5.5 magnitude quake jolts Kashmir

Srinagar: An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale on Friday shook the Kashmir Valley on Friday. The tremors caused panic among the residents, who rushed out of the buildings to safety.

“The magnitude 5.5 tremor was recorded at 2.38 pm and lasted over 15 seconds. Its epicentre was in Hindukush region of Afghanistan,” a MeT department official said. Police said there were no reports of damage from anywhere.
