SRINAGAR: Terming the permanent settlement of the long-standing Kashmir issue as a necessity for peace in South Asia, Hurriyat (M) Thursday appealed the political leadership of India and Pakistan to show courage and conviction for the resolution of the vexed issue.

Carrying on with its people-to-people contact programme, a high-level delegation of Hurriyat (M) visited many areas of north Kashmir’s Pattan including Devar, Yakmanpora, Bali Heeran where it interacted with many peoples’ delegations and addressed public gatherings.

Hurriyat (M) delegation comprising of Muhammad Musadiq Adil, Ghulam Nabi Zaki, Abdul Majeed Wani, Ghulam Hassan Mir and Jaffar Kashmiri informed the people about the steps being taken by the conglomerate both at the political and diplomatic levels for the resolution of Kashmir issue.

Addressing the public gatherings, they said that the Kashmiri people had sacrificed their lives and properties for their just demand of right to self-determination and promised people that Hurriyat (M) would not let their sacrifices go waste and not take rest until the Kashmir issue is solved as per the wishes and aspirations of the people.

Hurriyat (M) leaders paid glowing tributes to the people of Kashmir for showing steadfastness, remaining untied and continuing the resistance movement for their just right and appealed people to beware of the forces bent upon maligning the resistance movement and attempting to create sectarian strife and communal discord.
