Alam sent to judicial remand

SRINAGAR: All Parties Hurriyat Conference (g) Secretary General (III) and chairperson Muslim League, Masarat Alam was sent to five days judicial remand by a Srinagar court.

According to Muslim League spokesperson, Muhammad Rafiq Ganaie, the party had challenged the fresh Public Safety Act (PSA) on Alam. “But, SHO Nagrota has filed charges against Alam under 149/107 and the court send him to five days judicial remand.”

Ganaie while condemning the act said, “Alam was taken out of Kotbalwal jai up to its gate when jail superintendent called him back and informed him about the fresh charges.” “This is nothing but political vendetta of which our leaders are being made target.”

Meanwhile, Muslim League Bandipora president, Assadullah Parray who was lodged in Udhampur jail under PSA was rearrested after court quashed the “lawless law”. “He was shifted to CIK Jammu,” Ganaie said.
