SRINAGAR: Many candidates who were due to appear in the SSB examination have missed it merely because the recruitment board made some last minute changes with regard to the allotment of centres.
I had opted for Jammu to be the centre of my examination at the time of the submission of application form but my centre was shown as GDC Sumbal, said a candidate, Ajaz Ahmad.
Few days back, Ajaz had sent a request that he wouldnt be able to make it to Kashmir as he had to appear for another test at Delhi on 27th December. The SSB acknowledged my request but was ignored when the centre notice was published on December 24, he said.
Just a day before, Ajaz had tried to book a flight from Delhi but could not due to non availability of ticket. My parents visited the SSB office at Srinagar and my maternal uncle, Jammu office on 24 but they were refused an entry, he said. The authorities promised that they would entertain the request but they have deceived us and did not publish any list.
Like Ajaz, many others have missed to sit in the examination for various reasons.
