Veeri conducts extensive tour of Anantnag

ANANTNAG: Minister for Horticulture, Haj and Auqaf, Abdul Rehman Veeri, Wednesday conducted an extensive tour of Anantnag and took stock of development works at various places across the district.

The Minister was accompanied by Director Health Services, Kashmir, Dr. Sameer Matoo, Director Horticulture, DGM JKPCC, ADC Anantnag, ACD Anantnag, SEs of R&B, hydraulics, and other district level civil and police officers.

During his visit to the under construction building of Trauma Center on National Highway Bijbehara, the Minister was informed that the trauma center is being constructed at an estimated cost of 13Crore and it will have a 3 bedded emergency ward, besides two 15 bedded wards, for female and male patients.

The Minister enjoined upon the DGM of JKPCC, to expedite the construction work and hand over it to the Health Department well in time so that critical care is provided to the patinets.

At Sub District Hospital Bijebhara, the Minister took overall review of basic medical facilities provided to the patients there. He asked the Director Health Services Kashmir to make the neo-natology ward fully functional in the hospital. He also asked the officials of the Health Department to provide fully equipped testing lab to the hospital including a digital X-Ray machine, digital analyzers, and endoscopy and other machines.

The Minister later reviewed the functioning of PHC Mattan and on public demand, asked the Director Health Services to moot proposal for up gradation of PHC to Sub- District Hospital level as it caters to a huge rush of patients during the annual Amarnath  yatra.

 Veeri asked the Health Department to completely revamp the dental ward of the said hospital and provide well equipped lab for the convenience of patients.

While inspecting the under construction PHC Akura, the Minister directed the officers of R&B Department to complete the building being constructed at an estimated cost of 1.45 Crore in a fixed time frame so that best medical healthcare is provided to the people of the area.

At Hakura, the Minister directed the officers of the Police Housing Corporation to complete the construction of ANM School being built at an estimated cost of Rs 2.30 crore, besides stressing on the executing agency to maintain quality standards in its work.

Veeri also visited the under construction building of Hr. Sec School Marhama, being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 92 lakh.

The Minister said that ever since the new government assumed office in the State, significant initiatives have been taken in every sector aimed at providing corruption free and transparent governance. He said the Government is committed to bring economic stability by way of creating new and augmenting the already existing infrastructure in the state.
