Baramulla: Despite complaints pending against Superintendent ITI /IMC Secretary Pattan with anti-graft bodies, no action according to the complainant has been initiated against him by the anti-graft bodies. The complainant Wednesday alleged that the accused being a ‘influential person’ has been using his ‘good books’ to cover his alleged ‘misdeeds’.

The complainant claimed that even SDM Pattan refused to entertain a complaint against the accused officer, a charge refuted by SDM who said that he advised him to approach anti-graft bodies.

Crime Branch and Vigilance Organization after admitting the complaints of alleged corruption against Superintendent ITI /IMC Secretary Pattan in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district had sought detailed report about the accused officer from Director Technical Education Kashmir.

The complainant in his complaints to the CB and VoK has alleged that Superintendent ITI Pattan has not only swindled a large chunk of public money illegally but has also indulged in nepotism and bribery from past couple of years in the institution.

The complainant has also alleged that the said officer mislead him by providing wrong information under Right to Information Act. The complainant Mushtaq Ahmed Najar has alleged the money meant for the upgradation and purchasing of goods for the Institute has fraudulently been swindled by the Superintendent ITI. Besides this, the said officer according to complainant has also appointed some of his relatives in the institute.

The Crime Branch and the Vigilance Organization Kashmir have admitted the complaints and have sought detailed report about the functioning of the Institute in the town.

A top official from Technical Education told CNS that it is a serious matter and they have also started investigation at departmental level. “We have been collecting all the data and other documents and will soon submit them before Crime Branch and Vigilance Organization,” he said adding that if proved guilty, the officer will face the music.
