Harwan Residents Protest Occupation of NT Office

Srinagar: Scores of locals in Harwan area of Srinagar outskirts staged a protest against what they say illegal occupation of a government office by an ‘influential’ medico.

The protesters assembled outside police station Harwan and alleged that a politically influential doctor has illegally occupied Naib Tehsildar office. They demanded immediate eviction of the doctor from the office.

“This Naib Tehsildar office was constructed last year and more than Rs one crore was spend over it. If this building is not evicted, we will come on roads on daily basis,” said a protester said.

Police officials assured protesters that they will take up the matter with the Revenue Department. (CNS)
