‘Paradigm Shift in India’s Policy Towards Pakistan’

SRINAGAR: Describing resumption of dialogue between India and Pakistan as a gigantic step forward, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Saturday said there is a paradigm shift in New Delhi’s policy towards Islamabad.

He also welcomed opposition by separatists on implementation of National Food Safety Act (NFSA) in the State and asked them to come forward with suggestion.

Mufti chaired meeting of party top brass here to discuss the prevailing political situation in the situation, India-Pak ties and functioning of the PDP-BJP government. PDP president and MP Mehbooba Mufti, all party ministers, legislators, senior leaders, contesting candidates and other leaders attended the meeting.

The meeting lasted for four-hours during which Mufti welcomed the resumption of dialogue between India and Pakistan and hoped the two countries will clear the decks for carrying forward the process of reconciliation.

“There is a paradigm shift in New Delhi’s policy towards Islamabad,” he asserted referring to India’s consent for starting comprehensive dialogue process with Pakistan.

Mufti told his party leaders that both the countries have shown great maturity to re-engage. “It has generated hope and expectation among the people of Jammu and Kashmir, who have for long yearned for peace and stability in the region,” he said
