All Petrol Outlets Declared ‘Fully Automated’ in Srinagar City

SRINAGAR: Declaring Srinagar as “fully automated city”, Minister for Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution Department and Tribal Affairs Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali Saturday inaugurated automation of Oil Retail Outlet namely “Azad Filling Station” at Srinagar. All petrol outlets were automated by Indian Oil in the city.

With the inauguration, Srinagar becomes first City of J&K State whose all Filling Stations of “Indian Oil Corporation” were fully automated. The concept of 100 percent automation is a key initiative launched by “Indian Oil Corporation” to line with the vision of the government to use technology to bring in transparency for the benefit of customers.

Minister was accompanied by Indrajit Bose, Executive Director (CC & Branding), Indian Oil, Gurmeet Singh, Executive Director (Engineering), Indian Oil, G Ramkumar, Executive Director (Automation), Indian Oil and  P K Das , Executive Director, Punjab State Office, Indian Oil Officers, Customers and Dealers.

Speaking on the occasion Minister praised the initiatives of Indian Oil in providing yet another technology- enabled benefit to the people of Srinagar. He also interacted with the customers and customer attendants.

He said that technology is playing vital role in bringing accountability and transparency in the government machinery. He said that digitization of department is his priority and soon CAPD will be known as digitized department.

Minister said that retail outlet automation was introduced by Indian Oil in 2005 which unleashed immense advantages for the retail outlet owners and customers who can now get automatic records of the fuel purchased, nozzle usages, bills generated along with date and time in just a matter of seconds.

Meanwhile on the occasion, P K Das, Executive Director, Punjab State Office also reaffirmed Indian Oil’s commitment to offer better services to its valued customers to improve overall transparency in the system. He added that it is a proud movement for Indian Oil to declare Srinagar as the first fully automated city of Jammu & Kashmir.

“Indian Oil” launched the retail automation initiatives focusing on what customer values most i.e. ease of transaction. This is in line with Indian Oil’s overall business strategy and brand promise. Now, all Retail Outlets of Indian Oil in Srinagar City are fully automated. This is a pioneering initiative of the Corporation to ensure quantity and quality of petroleum products to the people of Srinagar.

Hari Anupam, Sr Divisional Retail Sales Manager cum State Level Coordinator for Oil Industry, Jammu & Kashmir added that Indian Oil is continuously committed to serving their customers in a better way.

The salient features of automation are no print; no delivery; integration of all business processes at the Retail Outlets.  Also each and every transaction at the Retail Outlet will be not only recorded but also communicated to the local and central server, which will further enhance the transparency in the retail business of Petrol and Diesel.

“Indian Oil” is a pioneer in the automation of Retail Outlets in the state of Jammu & Kashmir and is way ahead of its competitors. So far the Corporation has automated a total of 64 retail outlets in the state of Jammu & Kashmir.
