Principal GMC misleading people: DAK

Share

Srinagar: Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) today said that Principal Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar, Dr Rafiq Pampori is issuing misleading statements to cover up his wrongdoings and misdeeds.

Terming his protest leave and voluntary retirement as a drama, President DAK Dr Nisar ul Hassan in a statement said that Dr Pampori is confusing people so that he evades commissions and enquiries for deteriorating GMC and associated hospitals.

It is ironical that Dr pampori who is wholly and solely responsible for ruining the premier health institution is blaming others to escape accountability. Now, when he fears his exit is imminent, he is trying to gain sympathy of people by giving false statements, he said.

“GMC is in shambles because of his mismanagement and he is responsible for its worsening condition”.

There is documentary evidence against him for his involvement in illegal appointments and purchase scams. He has appointed his favorites and retired persons on key positions ignoring meritorious and deserving, he said.

GMC which was known for its high standards has been turned into a dispensary and has become a rehabilitation center for blue-eyed persons. GMC is in a poor state of affairs because of his incompetence and ineptness and patients suffer the consequences, he said.

“He has created lobbyism and infighting among employees so that he gets away with his incompetence and frauds. There is no work culture and no fear of accountability in GMC”.

The collapsed healthcare scenario of GMC vindicates the fact that re-employment ruins institutions as these re-employed officials have nothing at stake, he said.

“Dr Rafiq was given one year extension after his retirement in February 2014 and then he managed to continue with his illegal position by a dubious order from finance department. He transferred an employee to Jammu who dared to raise voice against his illegalities in front of PDP President Mehbooba Mufti”, he said.
