SRINAGAR: Government Thursday granted sanction to the constitution of J&K Skill Development Mission, which will provide broad policy guidelines to be implemented by Technical Education Department in coordination with other concerned departments, Institutions and Autonomous Bodies.
The Chief Minister will head the Mission while as Ministers for Finance, Technical Education, Labour & Employment and the Minister for concerned Trade Sector will be the other members of the Commission.
The Mission will be serviced by the Technical Education Department.
Under Skill Development Mission, a mechanism will be adopted to identify skill gaps and focus on specific skills in four broad categories which include Heritage Industry, Traditional and Modern Trades and Agriculture-based enterprises.
