Share

SRINAGAR: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has proposed to include teachers, meaning all categories of teachers involved in active teaching –professors, masters, lecturers, teachers-in the J &K Warrant of Protocol.

This has been done to enhance and restore the dignity of those engaged in the teaching profession.

The precedent that is to be followed is that of the developed countries model where the teaching profession attracts the best and the brightest and where besides attractive remunerative packages , legal, statutory, and social privileges are accorded to teachers in their routine and administrative transactions.

The aim is to alter the way teachers and the teaching profession is viewed and make both attractive by enhancing their official and social status. An order , issued vide Government order no 13-H &P of 2001 dated 16.07.2001 is slated to be introduced regarding the social , economic and legal inclusion of teachers. This, according to Director Education, Shah Faesal, is being done in accordance with the vision of the Minister of Education.
