Kulgam: Authorities Monday sealed three private schools for violating government norms in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

Chief Education Officer Kulgam Ghulam Rasool Shah said that he had received complaints from the parents that two private schools namely Alamdar Public School at Shirpora and Salfia School at Budroo have been forcing children to attend the school even after the government announced winter vacation.

“During my visit to these schools on Monday I found them operational. I sealed both the schools for violating the government norms,” he said.

He added that one more school namely Candid Public School located at Yaripora was also sealed for running Secondary Level classes without seeking permission from the government. “No private school will be allowed to function during winters,” he added.

Pertinently, the government had announced winter vacations from December 7 and today under rules no private school was allowed to force children to attend the classes.
