CAPD Official Sent to Jail for 3 Yrs

Pulwama:  A local court here convicted an official from Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department (CAPD) for indulging in corrupt practices.

 The Court of Additional Judge Anti-Corruption Pulwama convicted Muhammad Mansoor Malik, the then Supervisor cum in charge Tehsil Officer CA&PD Circle Zainapora Shopian to 3 years imprisonment. The Court also imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 upon the convict.

 The State Vigilance Organization had charge sheeted the convict after receiving a complaint from a Fair Price Shop owner that the accused demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs 10,000 from him for issuing a particular report.

 The accused was taken into custody on the spot and sent to Central Jail Srinagar.
