Srinagar:  Accusing Jammu Kashmir Cricket Association of indulging in nepotism and favouritism during selection process, the sports lovers Wednesday said that 70 per cent of players that have been selected under 16 are not eligible.

A delegation headed by one Muhammad Amir said that JKCA select players on the basis of favouritism. “If you any approach, your berth is sure. Talent doesn’t matter for selection committee,” they said.

The delegation said that the members and selectors of JKCA push their own children no matter they possess talent or not. “JKCA is responsible for the killing of talent in Kashmir. There is a dire need to overhaul the whole body and bring accountability in the Association,” they said.

Chairman JKCA Mehboob Iqbal told CNS that every aspirant thinks he possesses talent and if he gets dropped, he complains. “Selection process is always fair. There are experienced selectors who select cricketers on the basis of their merit,” he said. CNS
