Hijab Campaign Reaches Kashmir University

SRINAGAR: Continuing its drive to promote modes dress named Hijab Awareness Campaign ‘International Muslim Unity Council’ Wednesday held spot sessions with Muslim students in the Kashmir University urging them to adopt Hijab. 

In a unique style female members distributed flowers to those who had already donned Hijab. Others were given cards and pamphlets.

The awareness campaign started from Sir Syed Gate of the university with the aim to reach out students, scholars & professors at largest hub of education in Kashmir. 

Speaking to the media, spokesperson of the Unity Council said that wearing Hijab is the religious practice across all faiths and Muslims in particular. Kashmir is the Valley of saints known as “Reshwaer” & “Pirwaer” and it’s our responsibility to protect our culture which happens to be the heritage as well as our identity”.

“The essence of Hijab and modesty is in our blood. We come up with one to one interaction with the aim to highlight great merits of Hijab”, she said. 

Campaign stressed upon educational institutes, scholars, professors & teachers to stress upon the Hijab.
