Tourism Advisory Board a Visionary Step : Mir

Share

PAHALGAM:  PDP General Secretary Rafi Ahmad Mir Monday said that constitution of tourism advisory board is a landmark initiative of PDP led government to involve local stake holders and reviving ties with tourism players across India.

Mir said that this visionary decision of Chief Minister Mohammad Sayeed aimed at providing impetus to the tourism industry which has suffered immensely due to decades of disturbances. Mir said that it is for the first time that the government has acknowledged services of locals and involving their suggestions in transforming the tourism industry.

Lambasting the opposition for criticizing the constitution of this board ,Mir said that the achievement of previous government in tourism has only been of clearing travel bills of their

political bosses. Particularly NC Congress government went ahead with sponsoring the IIFA awards event in the US at a whooping cost of rupees 4 crore despite its negative travel advisory on Jammu and Kashmir. Had this amount been spent judiciously in India itself, it would have brought several lakh of tourists to Kashmir,” he said.

Mir said that it’s unfortunate that such an initiative of the government is being brutally politicized by a few , for gaining headlines and inclusion of stakeholders from outside is being misinterpreted in a well planned political strategy.
