Bomb hoax disrupts life in Lal Bazar

Srinagar:  Normal life was disrupted and traffic was closed on Lal-Bazar-Hazratbal road after police found a suspicious object lying outside police station Lal Bazar on Tuesday.

Taking the object as a bomb, police closed the road for the traffic and directed the shopkeepers to put down their shutters.

Eyewitnesses said after an hour, bomb disposal squad reached on spot and after the observation, a cigarette packet was recovered from the ‘suspicious’ black sealed object.

“It was somebody’s mischief that wasted the time and energy of cops as well as people. We have registered a case and investigation has been taken up to identify the mischief monger,” a police official said.
