Share

Bandipore: A day after some of the scribes in North Kashmir were allegedly beaten up by few cops in Bandipore while performing professional duties, scores of scribes from print and electronic media took out a protest march from Gulshan Chowk to DC office Bandipore.
The protesting scribes carrying placards and banners seeking action against guilty cops and protection to journalists later on staged a peaceful sit-in outside DC office. A police team rushed to spot while Superintendent of Police Shabir Ahmed Chowdhary assured the protesting scribe of prompt action against the guilty cops. He informed the scribes two guilty cops have already been transferred. Meanwhile, police have set up an inquiry team to probe the incident. The inquiry team will be led by Addittional SP Bandipore.
Meanwhile, President Journalist Association Sonawai Sahil Nazir while condemning the ‘intentional’ assault on the journalist said that government has been scaring the journalists, a move that will not be tolerated. “If such assaults on us continue in future we will protest outside Chief Ministers residence,” he said.
