KU holds seminar on Allama Iqbal’s philosophy

Srinagar: Kashmir University’s Directorate of Distance Education (DDE) on Monday organized a day-long seminar to pay tributes to Allama Iqbal (RA), the Poet of the East, on his birth anniversary.
Speakers at the seminar spoke at length about various dimensions of Allama Iqbal’s philosophy and its bearing on contemporary issues.
They said the universal message of Allama Iqbal teaches people the lessons of empathy, social sensitivity and concern for all human beings and also wants them to think and act “above the statistical plane and create an egalitarian society based on principles of universal justice.”
Director Distance Education, Prof Nilofar Khan, welcomed the participants and delineated objectives of the seminar.
The participants pledged to embrace the message of Allama Iqbal in their daily lives and work and take the same to grassroots.
A ‘photographic movie’ on Allama Iqbal, compiled by Mr. Showkat Rashid Wani, was also screened on the occasion.
Faculty members from Distance Education, officials and students attended the seminar.
