SRINAGAR: A meeting of Department Related Standing Committee (DRSC-IV) of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council was held here today under the chairmanship of MLC, Mr Vibod Gupta to review the working of Tourism Department.

Legislators Mr Surinder Choudhary and Qaiser Jamsheed Lone attended the meeting and gave their suggestions for the overall improvement and development of tourism infrastructure in the State.

The Committee stressed upon the officers of Tourism department to make coordinated efforts for development of requisite infrastructure in the state because coalition government is committed to develop tourism infrastructure in left-out and uncovered areas.

The Committee observed that the need of the hour is to provide all requisite infrastructure at Nuri Chhamb, Dubjan, Dera ki Gali, etc at Mughal Road like facilities of TRCs, Cafeterias, etc in view of heavy rush of tourists rising day by day.

The meeting discussed various matters pertaining to the working of Tourism Development Authorities, steps taken to popularize new tourist destinations, promotion of pilgrim tourism and their future development, preservation of heritage buildings, status of TRCs and other Tourist Facilitation Centers.
