Gool Arrests Spark Protests in KU

Share

SRINAGAR: Hundreds of students staged a protest in Kashmir University campus after Friday prayers against recent arrest of civilians in Gool. The call for protests was given by Hurriyat (G) Chairman Syed Ali Geelani.

Reports said that hundreds of students from various departments assembled outside the university mosque and took out a rally against the arrests made by police in Gool, Ramban in recent days.

The students carrying black flags and different banners raised pro-freedom and anti-India slogans.

“It is surprising that those who murdered four innocent human beings were let free and those who protested against that barbaric incident were indicted and arrested. This is the murder of justice,” said a protesting girl student.

Pertinently, Qari Shabeer Ahmed and his brother Abdul Lateef, sons of Molvi Ghulam Mustafa, were arrested after the Special Investigating Team held them responsible for instigating people for violence in Gool Ramaban following alleged desecration of holy Quran.
