Srinagar: Hundreds of employees and labourers staged a strong protest here today at press enclave under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Co-ordination committee of Trade Unions (JKCCTU) against the pension bill adopted in parliament freshly and for an immediate wage and regularisation policies for all temporary workers of the state.
While addressing a protest here JKCCTU president Mohammad Maqbool said, The central as well as the state government is hell bent upon to snatch away the hard earned right of pension and by freezing and abolition of perminant jobs has massively introduced the contract and casual system and created a large temporary workers without any wage or regularization of policies to pursue the imperialist dictated Neo-liberal agenda.
This has created an alarming situation where hard earned trade union and service rights of employees and workers are being taken away which cannot be accepted but to be resisted tooth and nail. He severely criticized the state governments recent crackdown on employees in the valley who were struggling to demand the enhancement of retirement age. He further warned the government to change their arrogant attitude. He demanded the state government not to implement the draconian pension bill in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, formulate immediate wage and regularization policy, he said.
Senior leaders of JKCCTU and Departmental Associations while explaining effects of present Anti-employees policies of the state government appeal the employees and workers to forge broader unity and intensify the struggle on both common and departmental issues and also cautioned the employees about some opportunist and reactionary elements in the trade union moment who are misguiding the employees by raising false issues thus helping the government to pursue the anti-employees policies.
