J&K Bank holds Platinum Jubilee meet in Kargil

SRINAGAR: As part of its platinum jubilee engagements, J&K Bank organized a celebratory meeting with well-known personalities, senior citizens, representatives of trade bodies, local businessmen and valued customers at Tourist Reception Centre Kargil in Ladakh.  

The prominent people from the area included Executive Councillors, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Sheikh Hussain Rayeesi, Haji Mohamamd Shafi, Additional DC Ahsan Khan, SP Kargil Sunit Kumar and many other distinguished local guests.

Executive President Abdul Hamid Banday was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Led by Executive President, the bank team comprising of President Mohammad Syed Wani, Zonal Head Mohammad Younis Pattoo, Cluster Head Tasaduq Ahmad and other officers held a special interactive session with the distinguished guests.

Commending the role of J&K Bank in economic development of the state, the councillors requested the bank to open business units and commission more ATM’s in the area.

Speaking on the occasion Sheikh Mohammad Rayeesi said, “J&K Bank’s role in the economic betterment of this place is commendable. Let this celebration become more significant and more inclusive. There is a good scope for opening new branches and commissioning more ATM’s in the area. I hope that the bank authorities would look into the matter for the convenience of people here.”

Abdul Hamid Banday assured the guests that more ATMs will be commissioned in the area and the possibilities of opening new branches in the area would be looked into.       

Earlier, Executive president welcomed the guests and thanked them for their participation in the special get-together.

“I welcome you all on behalf of the bank’s Chairman and CEO Mushtaq Ahmad. This meeting here is part of the platinum jubilee celebrations of our bank having a magnificent journey of success and growth, “he said.

“This is your bank and we are only the custodians of your interests in the bank. I extend my gratitude for your generous support to the bank and warm participation”, he added.

While commenting on the achievements of the bank Banday said, “The Bank has achieved the cherished target of Rupees one lac crore business and one thousand crore net profit. This has been possible because of your trust and cooperation with this institution.”

“We need to explore the opportunities to increase the CD ratio in the area. We have loans for every section of the society, and I would also request the people of this area to take full advantage of various loan schemes of the bank”, he added.

He advised the Zonal Head to explore options for increasing the CD Ratio of the region. He urged for organizing more financial literacy camps in the area.

President, Traders Association Kargil also put forth some suggestions on grievance redressal which were received warmly by the top executives at the event.

On the occasion, the bank donated medicines to the Baqaria Health Care and Research Center, Kargil.
