Share

SRINAGAR:   With the list of drugs being found substandard growing long, Civil Society Forum Kashmir Wednesday urged government to modify criteria of purchasing drugs, speed up the work on drug testing labs and immediate arrest of the guilty.

According to statement forum said that, what we are taking on the name of medicines or what have we been taking on the name of medicines till date is a big question. Is the life of our people so cheap? Forum questioned.

They alleged that 68 drugs found fake by SDFCO and 27 drugs found sub-standard /fake by CDSCO was an alarming situation and a serious threat to medical setup in the state.

Shockingly health department till now has failed to take any concrete step to check the supply of theses sub standard or fake drugs into J&K state, it said.

“Drugs worth 1200 crore enter Jammu and Kashmir state every year but without any fool proof quality check system. Civil Society Forum Kashmir  has been repeatedly saying there is no system at all to check the quality of drugs,” they said.
