LoC tensions orchestrated: Geelani

Share

Srinagar: Accusing New Delhi of deliberately keeping tensions high along Line of Control, Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani Monday said that India by doing so was trying to push Kashmir issue to backburner and portray it as a mere “border issue” between India and Pakistan.

“India is, under a well -planned strategy, trying to keep the border skirmishes continuing so as to mislead the world community that Kashmir issue is actually a “border issue” between India and Pakistan,” Geelani in a statement.

“They (India), by diverting attention to rising border tensions are trying to cover up the human rights violations they have committed in Jammu and Kashmir,” he added.

Syed Ali Geelani said this is the reason why they are portraying Kashmir as “infiltration issue” and “they do it (firing) deliberately.”

“Kashmir is neither the borer issue nor any infiltration issue but a “reality”, which no one can deny,” he said.

Expressing serious concern over the loss of precious human lives due to cross LoC firing the Hurriyat leader said till Kashmir issue is not resolved as per the wishes and aspirations of its people, such skirmishes between India and Pakistan will continue.
