Mosque Ceiling Collapses, 11 Injured

SRINAGAR: At least 11 worshippers were injured when ceiling of a mosque collapsed during Friday prayers in Ganderbal district, a police spokesman said. The ceiling of a mosque collapsed at Mohalla Sayed Gund Sarfraw, 60 kms from here, during the Friday prayers resulting in injuries to 11 people, the spokesman said.

The mosque was jam packed with devotees as it was Eid-e-Milad (birthday of holy Prophet) and Friday and the ceiling could not hold upon the weight of the gathering on the first floor, he said adding the injured were evacuated to the hospital by the locals and the police.
