Prasad visits Hazratbal, takes stock of arrangements

SRINAGAR: The Director General of Police (DGP, Mr. Ashok Prasad visited Hazratbal this evening and took stock of police bandobust, traffic and parking arrangements put in place for the devotees. 

He asked the officers to ensure one way traffic strictly on the urs days and the Friday following. He inspected police camps established in and around the Shrine and was briefed about the steps taken for smooth and peaceful congregations. He discussed various steps with regard to security and other arrangements made by police with the authorities of Waqaf Board, who expressed satisfaction over the arrangements. 

Prasad also interacted with the devotees and the managers of various camps set up by NGOs and other government departments to get first hand appraisal about the arrangements.

The DGP was accompanied by IGP, Kashmir Zone, Mr. S. M. Sahai and Muneer Ahmed Khan, DIG SKR, Mr. S. A. Watali, Syed Adafdul Mujtaba,   Mr. N. D. Wani and Mr. M. M. Sadiq SSP, Syed Ashiq Hussain Bukhari and SSP Security, Mr. Rafiq-ul-Hassa of other police officers.
