BUDGAM: Budgam police has cracked many burglary cases following arrest of five burglars, including three non-locals, and recovered stolen goods worth lacs from them.
Due to the growing incidents of house breakings and other burglaries in Budgam, a team headed by SDPO Charari-Sharief, Shalinder Mishra arrested three burglars Nezamudeen @ Kalta @ Choomantar, Shamim and Chatoo all residents of Bengal. On their sustained questioning, police recovered 30 mobile sets, 01 motor Cycle, huge quantity of Iron bars & copper utensils worth lacs of rupees. The trio formed an organised gang and are believed to be involved in many burglary cases in Budgam and Srinagar.
The arrest of the trio has solved the cases FIR No. 223/2012, 243/2012 and 05/2013 of police station Chadoora and case FIR No.140/2012 of police station Charar-i-Sharief. Trio is being questioned and further recoveries are expected, besides, further nexus whatsoever of the burglars is being ascertained.
Budgam police also solved another case of burglary in which gold jewelry worth lacs were stolen.
On 18.10.2012, burglars had decamped with golden ornaments worth lacs of rupees in broad day light from the house of Tauseef Ahmad Khan resident of Wahadatpora. A case FIR No. 316/2012 under section 454, 380 RPC was registered in police station Budgam.
During the investigation it transpired that two persons , Manzoor Ahmad Kumar @ Jumkral son of Salam resident of Sheikhpora Budgam and Mohammad Altaf Bhat @ Alla Chore resident of Drigam Khansahib were involved in the commission of crime. Police raided many places to nab the culprits.
Police succeeded in arresting both the burglars and recovered the stolen gold ornaments from their instance.
